Troubleshoot Q-Link Locators
Here are some tips to help you troubleshoot your deployment using Q-Link.
Q-Link Options Not Visible in QPE or QSP:
If Q-Link options are not available, please check the following:
- Are you running the latest Quuppa software version? The Q-Link feature is available from software release 8.5 onwards and cannot be used with older software versions. If not, update your Quuppa software package and try again.
- Has the Q-Link module been enabled for your subscription? If not, contact your Quuppa representative.
Connection Issues Between Hub & Satellite Locators:
If you are experiencing trouble in establishing a connection between a hub Locator and its satellites, please check the following:
-
Are your hub and satellite Locators running a new enough firmware? If your Locators have been produced before February 2023, upgrade the firmware of your Locators to a version that is compatible with Q-Link (main firmware version 1.98.753 or above).
-
Is the satellite close enough to the hub Locator? The distance between hub and satellite should be no more than 15 meters in confined or semi-confined areas and 40 meters in an open area. If needed, move the satellite Locator closer to the hub Locator.
- Are there any obstacles between the satellite and the hub? Significant objects such as metal structures or thick walls can block the connection between the satellite Locator and the hub Locator. A person blocking the line-of-sight between the Locators may also block the connect. Remove any obstructions from between the satellite Locator and the hub Locator.
-
Does the hub have enough capacity to connect to this satellite? Q-Link can be used with up to 4 satellite Locators per hub Locator. If the number of satellite Locators exceeds 4 for this hub Locators, try moving the hub closer to another wired hub Locator in your system to see if it could connect there.
