Tracking Areas

The tracking area is a defined area within the project's coordinate system in which you want to enable tracking. For example, the manufacturing floor within a factory building where you want to track the movement of assets.

Most deployments will only need one tracking area per coordinate system. Any further divisions of the area can typically be achieved using other project objects, such as zones. However, in cases where multiple types of items are tracked within the same space, multiple tracking areas within the same coordinate system may be appropriate. For example, when both workers and forklifts are tracked for collision avoidance solutions on a manufacturing floor, two tracking areas can be used to optimise the tracking plane heights for the workers and the forklifts.

This section will cover some basic tips and hints on editing tracking areas in the QSP.
